# CLI

> The rack: twelve commands that cover most work, thirty-eight in the v1.0.0 binary.

v1.0.0 ships 38 commands in one binary. These 12 — the rack — cover most day-to-day work. Run `kiln --help` for the full list.

The package manager, dev server and desktop platform have their own pages:

## kiln build

Bundles TS, JSX, CSS, HTML and WASM to browser or server targets. Produces single-file executables.

## kiln check

Type-checks your project using every core. Reports the same errors as `tsc` 7, without the second process.

## kiln lint

Rule engine with autofix. Reads an eslint config if you already have one.

## kiln fmt

One style, deterministic output. No options to argue about.

## kiln test

Jest-compatible `expect`, mocks, snapshots, coverage and DOM support. Starts in 30 ms.

## kiln site

Renders Hugo sites, templates and shortcodes natively. No Go toolchain.

## kiln doc

Generates docs from types and comments to HTML or JSON. Serves them with `kiln doc --serve`.

## kiln bench

Benchmarks with warmup, medians and JSON output. Every number on the [main site](https://kiln.land) comes from it.

## kiln task

Runs `package.json` scripts, Makefile targets or `kiln.toml` tasks from one entry point.
