# Introduction

> Kiln is a web runtime: TypeScript, WebAssembly, Hugo and plain JavaScript in one binary.

Kiln runs TypeScript, WebAssembly, Hugo and plain JavaScript in one process. The package manager, linter, formatter, bundler, test runner and desktop platform are already inside the binary.

This site is being filled in. The [changelog](/changelog) is the page that stays current.
